OUR 3 STEP PROCESS

REDUCE PAIN

Most people that walk through the door have pain and they want it gone yesterday. Our first objective is to manage pain levels by decreasing the level of irritation of the involved structures so that we can progress to the next step.

ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE

Once the pain has reduced, its important to address why the pain started in the first place. The common misconception is that pain free means healed. This is far from the truth because there are underlying reasons causing pain or creating imbalance. Getting to the root cause ensures better outcomes and lasting results.

IMPROVE RESILIENCE

Real life is unpredictable and full of surprises. Thats why the last phase of the process focuses on improving resilience. Resilience means having room to breathe, money in your savings account, an added layer of protection and capacity so that you can safely and confidently withstand life’s surprises,

The first step can be the toughest. That’s why we’re here to help you START your journey and guide you through the process.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

  • “I have been working with Alan for a year. From the beginning of working with him, I found him to be very professional, a good listener and flexible in the exercises we were doing, based on my comments and experiences week by week. He excelled in starting where I was and helping me get to a goal of better movement with less pain. Specifically, in one of our first sessions he taught me a breathing technique which was designed to decompress my spine and relieve me of the lumbar back pain that I had been told by multiple surgeons needed extensive surgery to allow me to have a better life with less pain. I was VERY skeptical as this technique didn’t seem to be enough to accomplish the goal. How wrong I was. Within a few weeks of practice, I had less and less back pain. Today I have little to no pain, can move more freely and for longer time spans and find that the exercises, he has me do always fit my needs and make me for a better and healthier me. Though I was never one to exercise in the past, I find myself motivated to continue on the path he has me on and trust that his vision of what I could be and do is possible. I couldn’t give him enough stars to reflect how he has improved my life.”

  • “Must express gratitude towards Dr. Alan Lee. He has helped me understand my body in more ways than one. I’ve been a fitness professional for over 10 years, but couldn’t figure out why I kept injuring myself. Dr. Lee’s approach towards physical therapy is different than I’ve ever experienced. He’s got me out of pain and more importantly has prepared me for every day life in and outside the gym. I’ve recommended clients and family members to Dr. Lee. He does outstanding work.”

  • “From years of high school football, playing offensive tackle, my neck resulted in compressed discs. I went through PT at another clinic which provided neck traction, which relieved the symptoms, not the cause. This created a mess of issues with my rib cage & how I breathe. I love to train HARD and push myself, but the neck was an issue, constantly limiting me. My main outlet for stress was causing harm, which saddened me. Dr. Alan Lee went above and beyond! I originally wanted to work on my neck issues, but he also noticed something that was also bugging me (hip rotation) - Not only did he help with my neck, he also spent extra time working on my hip internal rotation. He opened my eyes to a new way of breathing, 'resetting' my ribcage so my spine can properly communicate with my hips and neck. His coaching cues made it very easy to understand what I needed to do to perform the exercise properly. He is enthusiastic, punctual, and professional. Thinking he was done, he overdelivered by sending me a program of exercises that I need to focus on.”

  • “Words can’t describe how much I appreciate Dr. Alan Lee. I had back pain that was so bad I could not sleep properly for months. I went to several different physical therapists but did not have any relief. After a few sessions with Dr. Lee, I began to feel so much better. I returned back to my normal life and now pain free without any medication or surgery! I highly recommend you checking him out if you need help!”

  • “Start Physical Therapy was a game changer for me. I have scoliosis. I have been in and out of physical therapy offices as well as getting body work at least twice a month. I was referred to Alan Lee by a body worker because my diaphragm wasn’t expanding or moving properly. He did a couple of body assessments along with body manipulation. He retaught me to breathe. As I was breathing with the exercises he gave me, I could feel by spine straightening. At the end of our session, I felt my body feel more balanced and aligned. My sleep improved. My movement was more fluid. It was the first time that I felt I could heal my body myself without outside help. Thank you Alan for your knowledge. I’ve already told all my friends about you.”
